Colette Oxley

April 21, 1941 — July 27, 2016

Stoughton- Colette M. Oxley, age 75, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, following a brief illness. She was born in Eureka, California on April 21, 1941, the daughter of Otto and Rachel Steinhofer. Colette worked as an office manager for Stoughton Trailers LLC for many years until her retirement in 2006. She was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Parish. Colette enjoyed knitting afghans for special people in her life. She enjoyed baking cookies and cheesecakes and was known for her carrot cake and tamale pie. Colette had a passion for dogs, especially Boxers. She is survived by her son, Don (Janis) Bates; daughter, Donna Oxley Kocina; five grandchildren, Nicole (Mike), Kyle and Brandon (Stephanie) Bates, Jacob Kocina, and Meghan Oxley; one great grandson, Jaxton Bates; three sisters, Amy (Ned) Harrison, Beverly Hopkins, and Nellie Robinson; great grand dog, Marley Mae; many relatives; and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Darin; sister, Betty; and beloved Boxer dog, Gunnar. A Celebration of Colette's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton. Burial will follow in Cooksville Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 11:00 AM until the time of services Tuesday at Cress. A special thank you to the staff of Agrace HospiceCare Inc. Please share your memories of Colette.
