Colleen S. Wincentsen

Madison- Colleen S. Wincentsen, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born in Aniwa on January 10, 1933, the youngest of four children to Norman and Edna Wincentsen.

Colleen graduated from Antigo High School and from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Marshfield. She began working as an on the floor nurse at St. Nicolas Hospital in Sheboygan then in Casper, Wyoming. Colleen enlisted in the US Air Force and served her country honorably as a First Lieutenant and was honorably discharged as a Captain. She then enjoyed her work for the Red Cross on the Blood Mobile until her retirement. She enjoyed volunteering at Second Harvest and was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Colleen was an avid reader, loved her cats, enjoyed traveling with tour groups  in the US and overseas, and going to the Fireside Theatre. She always sent birthday cards to family and friends and attended all family functions, taking pride in being the picture taker and videographer for the events.

Colleen is survived by many close family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Donald (Joyce) Wincentsen, Carmen Halbesleben Kramer, and Wayne Wincentsen; and nephews, Ross and Steven Halbesleben and David and Eric Wincentsen.

Memorial services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 312 Wisconsin Avenue, Madison. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, immediately following the services in the church fellowship hall. Friends may greet the family from 11:00 AM until the time of services on Saturday at church.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
