Connie Lynn Haas

Sun Prairie: Connie Haas, age 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg. She was born July 9, 1952, in Prairie du Chien, WI, to the late Edward (Roger) and Edna (Braudt) Carl. She married Daniel Haas on August 24, 1974, in Prairie du Chien, WI. Connie worked for the State of Wisconsin for 43 years in many different roles and various titles.

Connie took pride in her painting. She went to painting classes to learn different painting techniques with different types of paints on multiple surfaces. She had beautiful paintings on wood, canvas, metal, sponge paintings on cabinets and walls and most recently painting rocks for her children and grandchildren. Connie loved browsing through antique stores with her husband Dan with the hopes of finding something special to bring home to decorate the house with, such as old tools with paintings and reminders of yesteryear. She also enjoyed the lights, the sounds and definitely the winnings at the casinos. She was ecstatic when she became a Grandma, four times over. She loved spending time with each of them whether it was going to their baseball games, reading them a book, doing crafts, snuggling, or just being with them. Connie enjoyed traveling with Dan to the Black Hills, Wall Drug, South Dakota, Lake Tahoe, California, or wherever the road took them. She especially loved the trips to Las Vegas where they saw some really good shows and played lots of slot machines Through the years, many of Stacey and Brian’s friends started calling Connie “Mama Haas”, a name that she absolutely adored and proudly adopted. She had plenty of space for all of her “kids”. She will be remembered for her tender heart, her warm smile and her sweet personality.

Connie will be deeply missed by her husband of 50 years Dan; daughter Stacey (Jason) Schoepfer; son Brian (Serena) Haas; grandchildren Austin, Hunter, Gabriel, and Everly; her brothers Melvyn Carl, La Crosse, WI; Gerald Carl, Windsor, MO; Dennis (Betty) Carl, Anderson, SC; She is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Connie is preceded in death by her brother, Rodney Carl; nephew, Tim Carl; mother and father, Roger and Edna Carl; sister-in-law, Judy (Gerald) Carl; and sister-in-law, Mary Jo (Melvyn) Carl.
