Craig Bottorff

Craig L. Bottorff, 80, was born January 22, 1942, died April 11, 2022.Craig struggled with Parkinson’s disease for several years but succumbed to complications following gall bladder surgery. His life partner Sue was by his side.

Craig was born in Chicago, IL. He grew up in St. Petersburg, FL and Evanston IL. Craig graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a Sergeant in the United States Marines where he learned to hate getting wet in the rain and may still hold the range sharp shooting record.  Craig retired from the Wisconsin Banker’s association after 30 years where he enjoyed traveling the state meeting with bankers.

Craig’s father was a WWII pilot and flight instructor following the war. This started Craig’s lifelong fascination with planes including becoming a small plane pilot. The EAA museum and AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI was one of his favorite places.

Craig enjoyed hockey with his son, Christopher, from youth hockey through college. Craig was the booster club president, he also had fun announcing the home games.

Craig enjoyed traveling with Sue, especially the trip to London. He liked watching his British mysteries.

Craig loved his lake home in Beaver Dam WI. He enjoyed bird watching, especially the waterfowl migrations.  Craig continued his lake life with Sue on Lake Waubesa.

Craig’s beloved son, Christopher Bottoroff, proceeded him in death 6 years ago after a long struggle with brain cancer.

Craig is survived by his life partner, Susan Worth, daughter Dana Ellis (Richard), and his daughter-in-law Cheryl Bottorff. Craig is further survived by Sue’s and Cheryl’s families and many friends.

A life celebration of Craig's life is planned for Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Sue Worth's  house.
