Dallas Robert Schaefer

Waunakee-Dallas Robert ""Tex"" Schaefer 81 died on Monday May 10, 2010 at the Waunakee Manor Health Care Center. He was born on Aug 24, 1928 in Denzer to Siegel and Irene (Yanke) Schaefer. He married Eldora Zellmer on June 26, 1976. He worked various jobs including; Baraboo Foods, Gisholt and Oscar Mayer where he retired. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Waunakee and the Waunakee Legion Post 360. Survivors include his wife Eldora, two children David (Charlene) Schaefer of Fairbanks,Alaska and Kathryn (George) Steiner of Baraboo. Two stepsons, Ronald Zellmer of Madison and Richard (Cheryl) Zellmer of Waunakee; three grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Schaefer and one sister Ardis Hewitt of Baraboo and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandchild Christian and two brothers Leroy and an infant brother. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church 701 S Century Ave Waunakee. Rev Karen Locken will preside. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Military rites will take place in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baraboo at 2:30 p.m.
