Dana Odegaard

Waunakee - Dana (Tans) Odegaard, age 46, of Waunakee, WI passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in the presence of her loving husband.

Dana was born on March 31, 1970 to David and Kathleen (Brower) Tans in Grand Haven, Michigan. After attending Grand Haven Christian School through ninth grade, she graduated from Neenah High School (Neenah, WI) and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Child and Family Studies at UW-Madison.

Dana worked in the child care field until 2006 when she changed careers and became the administrative coordinator at Alliance Benefit Group, a 401(k) administration firm. Dana was an active member of First Presbyterian Church Waunakee where she was a Deacon, choir member and enjoyed her volunteer work.

Her greatest joys were her children, Grace and Claire. Dana enjoyed gardening, reading, outdoor walks and drives in the country. She was a friend to all who knew her and always had a ready smile.

Dana is preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen (Brower) Tans.

Dana is survived by her daughters: Grace and Claire, husband: Randy Tranel, sisters: Rebecca (Steve) Zahn, Kristin (Dean) Elmer and Karin Tans, father: David Tans, loving nephews and nieces, grandparents of Grace and Claire, Beverly and Larry Odegaard, and their father, Eric.

Family and friends may visit at Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 County Rd Q, Waunakee on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place Tuesday, June 7th at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 5763 County Rd Q, Waunakee with Pastor Ben Ehrets presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Road Home Dane County and First Presbyterian in Waunakee, WI.
