SUN PRAIRIE- Daniel J. Hopfensperger passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, after nearly 15 years of defying the odds of living with Multiple Myeloma.
Born on April 11, 1954, Dan was youngest of 6 siblings raised in Darboy, WI. He graduated from Kimberly High School and UW-La Crosse. Dan had a long and successful career with the State of Wisconsin Immunization program, retiring in 2015.
Dan’s love had no bounds. Most precious to him were his wife, daughters, grandchildren, family, life-long friends, and his work-family. He had many true joys in life, including traveling, a good Gin & Tonic or IPA, putzing in his garage and yard, and Badger and Marquette University High School Football.
Dan is survived by his wife of nearly 41 years, Linda; daughters Corrie (Ben) Becker and Kelsie (Josh) Andreska; grandchildren Callen and Brea Becker; siblings Ruth (Brian), Ron (Bonnie), Ken (Sue), Ellen (Lenny), and Mike (Joann); sister-in-law, Gail (Gerry) Carmody; many beloved nieces and nephews; friends who were more like family, the Fargens, Manderfelds, Naleids, Corona and Nagys; Claire and the entire AIM organization; and countless dear friends and neighbors.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Reynold and Cecilia Hopfensperger; father and mother in-law, Harry and Charlene Peterson; brothers-in-law, Gerry Carmody and Brian Jennerjahn; and nephews Eric Hopfensperger and Shane Hopfensperger.
The family would like to especially thank Gail Carmody, Dr. Jim Conway, Dr. Jon Temte, and Dawn Reininger for their friendship and support.
