Daniel Omilianowski

Middleton: Daniel R. Omilianowski, age 72, passed away at his home on Monday, January 7, 2013. He was born July 20, 1940, the son of Roman and Michaeline (Zolkos) Omilianowski in Hammond, Indiana. Daniel attended high school at Bishop Noll in Hammond, and later graduated from Notre Dame University with a BS in Chemistry, and in 1971 from the University of Wisconsin with a PhD in Biochemistry. He was united in marriage with Patricia Murzyn on January 8, 1966, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Hammond. Daniel worked at the UW Biophysics Dept. and the State Lab of Hygiene from 1971 until his retirement in 2005. He was very active with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps as a volunteer and Board member, and greatly enjoyed his role as a contest director for Drum Corps Midwest and Drum Corps International from 1985 to the present. The most important thing in Daniel's life was his family. He was a loving Son, a faithful loving Husband, and a very proud, loving Father. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Patricia, his cherished son Andrew (Elizabeth), mother Michaeline of Hammond, IN, brother Conrad of Fresno, CA, and a sister, Diane (Charles) Svitko of Hammond, IN, and many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and many wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Roman. A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, January 11, 2013 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Dr. Madison, WI 53711. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, with Msgr. Kenneth J. Fiedler presiding. Visitation will be held from10:00 am until the time of Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Daniel's name to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 401 S. Owen Dr., Madison, WI 53711 for the Catholic Multicultural Center.
