Daniel Seffens

May 18, 1963 — December 29, 2022

Stoughton

Daniel L. “Redline” Seffens, age 59, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 29, 2022.  He was born to Richard Seffens and Betty Schrofer Brietzman on May 18, 1963 in Stoughton.  He attended Stoughton public schools.

Dan enlisted in the US Army Reserves, and in 1982, he was sent to Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.  After his discharge in 1988, he returned to Stoughton for a short time and then moved to Florida.  Dan was an excellent painter, and for a time, he was self-employer as a painter.  While in Florida, he painted in the home of Celine Dion which he thought was pretty special!  After returning to Stoughton, Dan continued his painting career locally.  For several years, he battled PKD and the last seven years, Dan had been traveling back and forth to Fresenius Kidney Care of Fitchburg for dialysis.

Dan had many interests and hobbies.  He enjoyed riding and working on all of his Harley Davidsons, snowmobiling locally and also with his friends in Hayward, WI, collecting antiques, and racing his ’31 Ford with friends at Oregon Speedway and also in Hillsboro.  Dan won many races and was friends with Leslie’s List.  He was recently invited to participate in the Cottage Grove Christmas Parade, riding on the MW Huston carriage pulled by their Belgian horses.

Dan enjoyed the company of pit bulls.  He had several dogs over the years that he cared deeply about; Roxanne, Charlie, and Roscoe.  He enjoyed spending time with his many friends and his son, T.J.  During the winter, when he wasn’t snowmobiling, Dan enjoyed doing puzzles and coloring.

Dan is survived by his son T.J. (Alissa) Luchsinger; mother Betty Brietzman (Lenny Gilbert); brother Dale Seffens (Pam Sandmire); sisters Debra Blaney (David) and Rosemary Meier; grandchildren Breleigh, Kennedi, Morgen, and Ragnar Luchsinger; great-grandchildren Tayia Luchsinger-Harris and True Walker; niece Megan Blaney; nephew Connor Blaney; and countless friends and family.

Dan was preceded in death by his father Richard Seffens; paternal grandparents Kenneth and Maye Kittleson; maternal grandparents Charles and Florence Hoff and Peter and Arlene Schrofer; and several uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 11AM-1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Cress Funeral Home STOUGHTON with a time of sharing to begin at 1:00 PM.  Full military honors will immediately follow the service.  Guests are welcome to join the family at the Stoughton American Legion following services at the funeral home until 5:00 PM.

Dan was a strong man, a trusted friend, and he was loved by everyone.
