Darlene M. Ramsfield

Darlene Ramsfield, surrounded by 4 generations of family members, passed away from a stroke on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at St Mary's Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin. Darlene was born in Waterloo, WI to Ernest and Catherine Miller on January 23, 1930. She graduated from Waterloo High School and married Rupert Ramsfield. They raised their family on the Ramsfield family farm.

 

Darlene is survived by 8 children: Jeff (Joann), Diane Millard, Cindy (Roger) Bong, Kristie (Donn) Trieloff, Bonnie (Jeff) Olson, Tim, Karen (Martin) Wieder, and Lisa (special friend Billy Berry) Elliott; brother Darald Miller, sister Jean Kreblin, special niece Carol Yelk, grandchildren (36), great grandchildren (17), great great grandchildren (9) and many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Rupert, grandson Scott Schulenburg, son in law Gary Millard, brothers Virgil and Lyle Miller, sisters Beverly Miller, Shirley Hefter and Ethel Yelk.

 

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the kind and caring staff and physicians

at St Mary's Hospital ICU.

 

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 11:00 am at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Sun Prairie. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Second Harvest Food Bank or a food pantry of your choice.

 

Darlene's family will miss the Sunday dinners and large holiday gatherings that she was the center of. She will be remembered by her children and older grandchildren as the loving person that welcomed their spouses and significant others into the family gatherings and treated them as one of her own. She will be remembered by the younger grandchildren/great grandchildren as the grandma that let them play with the toys on the living room floor and for giving them 1 cookie for each hand when they went home. She was a neat lady and will be greatly missed.
