David O. Anderson

December 31, 1925 — August 26, 2009

Sun Prairie/DeForest- David O. Anderson, age 84, passed away on Wed., August 26, 2009. David was born on Dec. 31, 1924, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Carl and Cora (Otterness) Anderson. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during WWII. On July 18, 1959 he was united in marriage with Lauretta Schell in Minneapolis, MN. Together they raised two daughters. David was a graduate of the University of MN with a degree in Agricultural Education. His various careers included teaching vocational agriculture in Watertown, MN, serving as the county agriculture agent in Morrison County, MN, and working as an agriculture chemical sales rep for U. S Borax. In 1975, he accepted a position with Royster Fertilizer Company which brought David and his family to Sun Prairie. He became an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Sun Prairie. In semi-retirement, David enjoyed selling maple syrup from the Anderson Maple Tree Farm at the farmer's market in Sun Prairie. He loved woodworking and was an avid reader. Golfing and traveling were also great enjoyments.

David is survived by his wife, Lauretta; daughters Kari Nouhan of Clifton, NJ and Lynn (Angelo) Banfi of Santa Monica, CA; grandchildren Kirk and Ethan Nouhan and David and Carlotta Banfi; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Judith and brother Paul.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 550 Lincoln Dr, Sun Prairie with Rev. Julie Krahn officiating. Friends and family may call at the church from 9:30 until the time of service. Military graveside rites will be conducted on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, 600 Rushpoint Road, Stanchfield, MN.
