David B. Auchtung, Sr.

Marshall- David B. Auchtung, Sr., age 79, passed away after an extended illness at this home on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. He was born on May 17, 1931 in Watertown the son of Bernard & Eleanor (Schrebul) Auchtung He was united in marriage with Joyce I. King on September 20, 1953 in Marshall and celebrated 57 years of marriage this past September. David was a lifelong resident of the Marshall area. He owned and operated a local dairy farm retiring in 1976. He then was employed with Champion Pack, Waterloo and he later worked and retried for the second time from Perry Judd, Waterloo. David loved to go to auctions and garage sales and also in his spare time loved to play dart ball, softball and travel. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Sun Prairie. David was proud to have served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, Marshall; his children, Terry (Cindy) of Sun Prairie, Sherrie (Paul) Witt, Marshall, Julie (Jim) Zbigniewicz, Sun Prairie, Dave (Martha) and Randy (Jerri) both of Marshall; 10 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 304 Woodward, Sun Prairie with Rev. Rick Bloom. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial with full military honors provided by the Sun Prairie area veterans will be held at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens.
