David J. Renner, age 23, passed away on January 8 at University of WI Hospital surrounded by his parents after battling pneumonia and other complications. David experienced many challenges during his life, but he was a bright light and a great joy to everyone who knew him. His smile, his laugh and his positive outlook on life made caring for David a privilege.
Music is what made David happiest, including Jewish, rock and roll and country music. David attended Muir, Jefferson and Memorial and he truly enjoyed his days at school, and the special education assistants and teachers who supported him. He also had a great love of his Jewish community. Through the amazing support from Temple Beth El, David had a Bar Mitzvah and completed confirmation. Over the past two years, he joyfully volunteered at Temple and Ashman Library with the support of Advanced Employment.
David is survived by his parents, Lynn and Craig, sister Sophia, grandfather, aunts, uncles and loving cousins. He is preceded in death by his Grandma Judy, who adored David.
