David Stronach

September 30, 1932 — October 21, 2021

Stoughton – David G. Stronach, age 89, passed away on Thursday Oct 21, 2021, at Skaalen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  He was born Sept 30, 1932, to Harold and Inez (Linde) Stronach.  David married Beverly Grace Strandlie on October 30, 1954, and together they raised three sons, David Jr., Douglas and Deano.  Dad was a huge Wisconsin sports fan, with his favorite being the Brewers.

David is a founding member of the Stoughton Sports Booster Club and was instrumental in getting the first announcers booth built at the high school.  He was deeply involved in baseball in the community for many years, helping to win the 1977 State of Wisconsin Class A American Legion Baseball Championship as a coach, and youth sports including baseball, basketball and coaching fast pitch softball.  David was a founding member of the Stoughton Viking Snow Drifters Club.

David will be missed by many and is lovingly survived by his three sons, David Jr. (Sharon), Douglas (Judy) and Deano (Dawn); grandchildren Pam, Robert, Molly, Chelsea, Dean Jr., Mackenzie and Madison; great grandchildren Levon, Cameron and Odin; and had a special bond with Dan Hvam.

David is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Beverly.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday October 27, 2021, at COVENANT LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1525 Van Buren St. Stoughton with Rev. Wendy Moen presiding.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.  Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, following the burial, at the Stoughton VFW Post 328.  Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday October 26, 2021, at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect St. Stoughton, and also from 11:00 AM until the service at the church on Wednesday.

A big thank you to the staff at Skaalen Nursing Home along with a special thanks to Elena with Agrace HospiceCare for keeping dad comfortable.  Memorials may be made to the Stoughton Sports Booster Club or to the Stoughton VFW Post 328 in Stoughton.
