Deane Olsen

Deane William Olsen passed away peacefully on February 27th, 2022, after a four-year battle with cancer. He was born in Madison, Wisconsin on March 14th, 1947, and was the son of Alonzo and Leona (Germaine) Olsen.

Deane enlisted in the Army in 1965 and served 2 tours in Vietnam where he was awarded the Purple Heart.

He married Marjorie Odden on July 17th, 1987, at Olbrich Botanical Gardens. He enjoyed drawing, building, camping, playing pool, fishing and taking long walks with his many dogs over the years. He was a Brewer fan and caught as many of the games as possible. “GO BREWERS!” He was always there for friends and family with any help he could give. His greatest joy was time spent with family.

Surviving him are his wife, Margie; Sons Paul Olsen (Marcia Ingles) and Jeffrey Olsen (Amy); His daughters Aimee Olsen (Greg Peterson), Andrea Blum (Denny) and Erica Seth (Danny). 11 Grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters.

He was proceeded in death by his father (1961), Mother (2000) and Infant Brother Terry (1946)

The family would like to thank the staff at the VA Hospital. Especially the nurses of Hospice who helped us in letting us know we were never alone going through this hard time. THANK YOU!!
