MADISON/POYNETTE
Deborah I. "Debbie" Wagner, age 61 passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2015. Debbie was born in Madison on April 8, 1954 to Frederick and Lola (Hull) Lang.
She was a graduate of Memorial High School, Class of '72. She married John Swadley that same year on September 2nd. She later married Richard Wagner. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Debbie was previously employed at the Jamieson House in Poynette, which led to her career at the Madison Masonic Center Foundation as Executive Director. Debbie unselfishly dedicated over 20 years of service to the Madison Masonic Center Foundation, promoting and working with the many events held there. This was Debbie's life - her heart and soul--she loved the tenants and members of the organization, and especially loved working with brides. She went out of her way to make sure their day was perfect, just as she would for anyone. On May 25, 2015 the organization dedicated a ballroom to be named the Deborah Wagner Ballroom. Debbie was just as much an event planner in her personal life. She was an avid Badger and Packer Fan and enjoyed cooking and hosting dinners.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter Erica (Dan Jungbluth); grandkids, Maycee, Emily, and Dawson; mother, Lola Nordley; brother, Mark Lang; nephews, Brandon and Dustin Lang; and cousin, Paul Olmsted. She is further survived by the entire Wagner family and other extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and step-father; husband, Richard; and infant granddaughter, Hope.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Madison Masonic Center Auditorium, 301 Wisconsin Avenue, Madison. Family will greet friends after 12 Noon until the time of service. A tailgate party will immediately follow the service. Those attending are encouraged to dress in Packer or Badger colors in honor of Debbie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Madison Masonic Center Foundation, 301 Wisconsin Avenue, Madison, WI 53703. Please share your memories at
