Delmer Hellenbrand

Delmer H. Hellenbrand, age 87, died peacefully at home Sunday, May 8th surrounded by family. He was born on November 29, 1934, in Springfield Corners to Anton and Kathrina (Ziegler) Hellenbrand. He married the love of his life, Marion (Laufenberg) on November 8, 1960. They farmed side by side on the family farm. Delmer was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ashton. He loved his family more than anything and enjoyed their many gatherings. His card playing friends were very special to him as well.

Survivors include his wife, Marion; their nine children, Debbie (Steve) Schutz of Westfield, Mark (Sue) of Belleville, Paul (Karen) of Lodi, Janice (Tom) Williams of Middleton, Anita (Mark) Nelson of Greenville, Connie (Steve) Erb of Belleville, Steve (Natalie) of Waunakee, Lori (Shawn) Neumann of Cross Plains, and Kristi of Waunakee; 22 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren with one more expected in August; sister, Theresa Kalscheuer; and in-laws, Joe and Loretta Kalscheur, Dorothy Statz, Henry and Shirley C. Laufenberg, Margaret and Ken Bernards, Alice and Dick Weiss, Ron and Jean Laufenberg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Margaret and Ted Laufenberg; infant son, Raymond; grandson, Ryan; brothers, Leander, Wilfred, Harold, Albert, and Theodore; sisters, Mary Ann Shower, Agatha Gugel, and Leona Laufenberg; brothers-in-law, Robert Shower, Joseph Gugel, Kenny Kalscheuer, Art Laufenberg and Dave Statz; sisters-in-law, Verena, Dorothy, Ruth, Elaine, and Shirley Laufenberg.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St Peters Catholic Church, 7121 County Trunk K in Ashton. Rev Chris Gernetzke will officiate. Friends may call on Sunday, May 15, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Hwy Q in Waunakee. Friends may also call at the church on Monday from 9:30 until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caring staff from Agrace Hospice for helping us during these final special moments. Rest in peace Dad, we love you. Thank you for your guidance and instilling strong family and faith values in each one of us. We promise to take great care of Mom until you two meet again.
