Dennis Klawes

Stoughton – Dennis John Klawes, age 76, passed away on Tuesday February 7, 2023, at the Stoughton Hospital.  He was born July 19, 1946, in Waukesha County to the late William and Lucy (Grabow) Klawes.

Dennis served in the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.  He married Susan Berg on March 22, 1985.  Dennis worked for Don Miller as a driver until his retirement.

Dennis is survived by his wife Susan Klawes; his children Sally Klawes, 2 stepsons Michael (JoAnn) Swenson and Jonathan (Jennifer Woodman) Swenson; grandchildren Jessica Parise, Morgan and Mason Swenson, Michael Swenson, Andrea Parise and four great grandchildren.  He is further survived by his sister Ruth (Roger) O’Day, Virginia Carpenter, sisters-in-law Janet and Lucy Klawes, brothers Danny (Barb) Peplinski, Randy Sr. (Darlis) Klawes, Gordon Klawes and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Bonnie Tirado, brothers Larry, William, Allen and David Klawes, and his foster parents William and Gertrude Starosta.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Saturday February 18, 2023, at the STOUGHTON AMERICAN LEGION POST 59, 803 N. Page St. Stoughton.  Military Honors will be at 2:00 PM.
