Dennis P. O'Donohue

Sun Prairie, WI - Dennis Patrick O’Donohue, passed away on October 8th, 2023. He was born on June 21st, 1944 in Shorewood, WI to Marion (Schmidt) and Cyril O’Donohue.  Dennis served his country in the Marine Corps in Vietnam reaching the rank of Sergeant (E-5.) After being honorably discharged, he returned to Wisconsin and studied nursing for 2 years at Madison Area Technical College prior to becoming a Technical Writer for EDS Federal, in Madison, WI.  While working at EDS Federal, Dennis met (Patricia) Lynne and they were married on August 19th, 1989.  Later, Dennis began working at Unisys which led to a move to Florida where Dennis and Lynne lived for 7 years.  After that, they returned to Wisconsin where they lived in Sun Prairie, WI until his passing. 

Dennis was a passionate artist and musician who loved to play the guitar and keyboard.  He spent most of his life designing an airship (The Evening Star) that he hoped would be able to be used for humanitarian purposes.  He loved fishing and also liked to plant flowers around the home, feed birds, and help take care of their two cats (Ebony and Nella.)

Dennis is survived by his wife of 34 years, (Patricia) Lynne, his sister Erin Kingsley, his children Tammi (Dan) Green, Vicki Sosbe, Sean O’Donohue, and Glen (Sarah) Haag.  He is further survived by 13 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren as well as many relatives and dear friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents (Marion and Cyril,) his siblings Patsy (and her spouse Eli) Safer, Kathleen Roehl, and Terrance O’Donohue.

Everyone who was lucky enough to spend time with Dennis was a better person for having known him.

The family would also like to thank Dennis’s doctor Danielle Gindlesberger and the entire staff at Agrace Hospice Care. 

Visitation will be from 12-2:00 PM on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023 at Cress Funeral Home in Sun Prairie, WI with a memorial service to begin at 2:00 PM.
