Dennise Joy Athnos

Stoughton- Dennise Joy Athnos, age 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 18, 2010.  She was born on November 21, 1941, the daughter of Richard and Constance (Kahl) Bremner.   Our mother is now radiant in Heaven, surrounded by those she loved and by those she longed to meet. We cherish the memory of her vibrant and exotic spirit. Like the facets of a gem she presented whimsy, sparkle, childlike joy.  Ever our rock, she presented strength to guide and protect.  Dennise served with true humility those who did not ask for help and sacrificed and worked hard for those who needed her.   She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert L. Athnos; three children; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; the families of her four beloved adopted daughters; and the many more who have been affected by her advocacy for the handicapped.   Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton.  Burial will follow in Lutheran Cemetery South.  Friends may greet the family from 1:00 PM until the time of services Tuesday.   We have been changed by the force of her life that sought Truth and Love, by which she is now and forever more embraced.  We love you mom.
