Dolores Forszen

Dolores Forszen nee Kordas age 88,  Died on Monday July 5, 2010 at the Don and Marilyn Anderson Hospice Care Center in Fitchburg. The former Dolores Kordas was born in Milwaukee on June 14, 1922 to Walter and Sophia Kordas. She was married to Lawrence F. Forszen on Nov 8, 1943 in Walla Walla, WA and he preceded her in death on March 10, 1993. She attended Bay View High School and resided in the Shorewood area the majority of her life until  2002, when she moved to Waunakee to be near her daughter Liz and then to Verona in 2009. She was quite a good singer and in the 1940's she would sing at the Schroeder Hotel in Milwaukee. Dolores volunteered at schools in Shorewood assisting with the reading programs. She loved to play bridge and golf at Ozaukee Country Club. She was member of Christ Episcopal Church in Whitefish Bay for a number of years. Survivors include her children Elizabeth ""Liz"" (Roger) Erickson, Lawrence Forszen Jr. and Kathy (Robert) Wilkinson four grandchildren Rebecca (Stephen) Bumgarner, Kevin and Jeffrey Thompson, and L. Michael Forszen III, two great grandsons Joseph and Owen Bumgarner and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence and her siblings Lee, Chet, Angie Shaleski, and Jo (Josephine) Marifke. A private service will be held in Milwaukee. The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Four Winds Manor in Verona and to Hospice Care for the loving care and compassion shown to their Mother allowing her to maintain her dignity to the end. The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice Care Inc. 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711 in their Mother's memory.
