Dolores J. Purcell, age 83, died on Sunday March 30, 2014 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 3, 1931 in Janesville, the daughter of the late Leslie Inman and Jane Borst. Dolores is a 1949 graduate of Oregon High School. She married LeRoy Purcell on October 20, 1951 in Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church in Oregon. Treasured most was the time she spent with her children as a homemaker, and later enjoyed her work at Gimbels and Manchesters. Dolores had a witty sense of humor, loved chocolate and Badger basketball.
Dolores is survived by her children; Susan L. (Wayne) Mixdorf, Daniel C. (Cynthia) Purcell, Mary E. (Lee) McCann, Elizabeth J Purcell (Cody Larson), and Theresa M. (Christopher) Cook, her grandchildren; Patrick M. and Matthew L. Mixdorf, and Kelsey L. and Alexandra M. McCann, sisters-in-law Kathleen (Bill) Phillips and Helen Purcell. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including her very dear friend Louan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband LeRoy in 2012, her uncle Harry McComb, and her brother Richard (Anne) Inman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 Noon on Friday April 4, 2014 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison with Msgr. Ken Fiedler presiding. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden in Madison. A visitation will be from 10:30 AM until the time of the Mass at church on Friday.
Memorials may be made to the Our Lady Queen of Peace School Endowment, or Agrace HospiceCare.
