Madison - Dolores H. "Dee" Valentine, died on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the St. Mary's Care Center in Madison at age 85. She was born in Wausau to Dorothy Jagala and Edward Gauger on February 19, 1926. Dee graduated from Wausau High School and went on to earn her nursing degree from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac. She did graduate work at Marion College in Fond du Lac and Marquette University in Milwaukee. She worked as a Clinical Instructor in Wausau and at St. Mary's School of Nursing in Madison. She married Richard J. Valentine on May 30, 1959. Dee worked for many years as a nurse at St. Marys Hospital and after her retirement enjoyed bowling, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her three children, Michelle Fitzpatrick (Phil), Matthew Valentine and Jamie Valentine (Leanne Schindler); five grandchildren, Molly, Samantha, Seth, Rachel and Braden; two sisters, Violet Kitowski and Virginia Davide; one brother, Ronald Gauger; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Valentine; her parents; and her sister, Diane Butterfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at BLESSED SACRAMENT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2115 Rowley Avenue, Madison. A luncheon will follow the service at Flemmings Steakhouse, 750 North Midvale Blvd. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospital, Agrace HospiceCare Inc., or Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
