Madison – Donald R. Bloedow, age 86, passed away on Wednesday February 10, 2021. He was born January 25, 1935 in VanDyne, WI to the late Edwin and Regina (Bedwin) Bloedow. Donald proudly served his Country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He later married Ida Marie Blankenheim on May 16, 1959 in Madison.
Donald was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, fishing and was also a computer whiz. Donald also loved to travel throughout Wisconsin. He was employed for over 25 years by the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation as a Fleet Manager.
Donald is survived by his son Steve Bloedow; granddaughters Ashley and Amber Bloedow; sister Ruby (Art) Crook; brother Robert (Barbara) Bloedow; special niece Julie Gumz and her son Eric Gumz; special companion Charlotte Radtke; and he is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ida Marie Bloedow; and his daughters Shari and Suzanne Bloedow.
A private service will take place with entombment at Roselawn Memorial Park. A public celebration of life will take place at a later date.
