Donald George Ebert passed away on July 3, 2010 at the age of 68. Â He was the proud and supportive father of Jerome C. (Joye), James Douglas (Bridget) and Alan M. (Graciela) and adoring grandfather to Sophia Loretta (James) and Hazel Maryann (James). Â In addition, Don was the loving brother to John (Patricia), JoAnn (Jerry Wallace), Thomas (Theresa) and Janet (Ken Miller). Â Don was preceded in death by his brother Charles. Â Don is also survived by and will be sorely missed by Jane Ebert and the LaCourt family. Â Born on May 5, 1942 to Albert and Lorraine Ebert of Richland Center, Wisconsin, Don graduated from Richland Center High School in 1960. Â After attending Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he was conferred with a Bachelor of Science from UW-Madison in 1964 and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from UW-Madison in 1966. Â After working for Southwestern Bell, Wisconsin Bell and Ameritech, Don retired from TDS Metrocom in 2008. Â He knew the joys of fatherhood, brotherhood and friendship and never asked anything in return of those to whom he readily gave. Â His fascination with history and his love of learning led him to continue his education after retirement and to travel the country. Â Don always loved a good book, a good laugh and a good beer. Â Â He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Madison. Â We will celebrate his life at a visitation on Thursday, July 8, from 4 to 7 pm at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. Â A memorial mass will follow on Friday, July 9 at 10 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 2115 Rowley Ave. Madison. Â Cut flower memorials will be shared afterwards with the patients and families at HospiceCare. Â
