In Loving Memory
Donald L. Gallagher, age 95, passed away on October 29, 2015. He was born on March 27, 1920 to Amos and Bertha ( Holzhueter) Gallagher.
Don graduated from Sun Prairie High School. Donald proudly served as a paratrooper in the 101 st Airborne from 1941-1945. He jumped on D- day and into Holland where he was wounded and he received the Purple Heart. He was later trucked into Bastogne, Belgium and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. His battalion then marched through southern Germany on their way to capture Berchtesgaden and the "Eagle's Nest". He was a life member of the 101st Airborne Association, Sun Prairie American Legion Post 333, V.F.W. Sun Prairie 9362 and Military Honor Guard. Don became a Tool and Die Maker and worked at Graber's in Middleton. Donald married Beulah Mae Davidson on November 16, 1946 at the Spring Prairie Parsonage, Keyeser . He was also a member of Spring Prairie Lutheran Church.
Donald is survived by his wife Beulah; son Tom " Pinky" (Kris); sister in laws Dorothy and Mabel; He was preceded in death by his son Timothy, his parents, two sisters Mildred Bonk and Ardelle Gulrud; 4 brothers Floyd, Wilmer"Fritz", Marlin and Franklin and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Monday, November 2, 2015 at Spring Prairie Lutheran Church, N509 Co. Rd. C, DeForest with Pastor Sylvia Lee- Thompson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am until time of service at the church. Burial with military honors will be held following the service in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Spring Prairie Lutheran Church.
