Janesville/Stoughton- Donald W. Harrington, age 81, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. He was born in Edgerton on April 12, 1933 the son of Grant and Mildred (Barrett) Harrington. Don graduated from Edgerton High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served his country honorably, was stationed in Texas and in Okinawa, and flew B52 planes over Korea. On December 8, 1956 Don married Jacqueline Burch. Together they enjoyed travelling and spending time with their family. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2006. Don worked as a construction Superintendent for Findorf for over 20 years, and then became the Superintendent of Maintenance for Edgerton Schools until his retirement in 1998. He had a passion for carpentry and working with his hands, and enjoyed building his Acro Sport II aerobatic biplane for the last 6 years. Don was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. He took great pride in his family, especially his grandchildren and his beloved canine companion Shotze. Don is survived by his daughter, Liz (Randy) Wagner of Milton; son, Todd of Janesville; 9 grandchildren, Lindsey, Jamie, Nicholas (Katelyn), Cory, Alyssa (Will), Danielle, Samantha, Andrew and Ryan; four great grandchildren; three brothers, David, James and Russell (Cindy); and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jacque, in 2007; daughter, Lori Hillebrandt; brother, Richard; and nephew, Scott. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Saturday December 6, 2014 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 323 N. Van Buren Street, Stoughton, with Fr. Randy Budnar officiating. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon immediately following in the church fellowship hall. Burial, with full Military Honors, will take place in Graves Cemetery, where Don will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass on Saturday at church. The family suggests that memorials may be made to American Family Children's Hospital, St. Ann Scholarship Fund, or Salvation Army. Please share your memories.
