Stoughton- Donald R. Leikness, age 75, passed away at Skaalen home in Stoughton on Friday, August 5, 2011. He was born in Stoughton on August 29, 1935, a son of Henry and Olivia (Offerdahl) Leikness. On May 5, 1964, he was united in marriage to Nancy Lee Nelson in Rockford, IL. Donald worked at Dorsey Trailers in Edgerton for 34 years. After retiring, he enjoyed carpentry, golf and traveling with Nancy. He is remembered as a good provider, a devoted father, and grandfather, and for his sense of humor. He is survived by 2 children, Carrie and Brian Leikness; 4 grand children, Lacy and Chad Leikness and Blake and Samantha Miller; a great-grandson, Richard Wolf; sisters, Louise Femrite, Virginia Vike, Phyllis Porod, Linda Olson, Beverly Heftey, Kathleen Jacobs, and Susan Foye; brothers, Jim and Steve Leikness; and by many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; brothers, Hank, Fred, and Phillip Leikness; and sisters, Helen Anderson and Florence Sproel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton with the Rev. Scott Geister-Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cooksville Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the Stoughton American Legion Hall on North Page St. following the burial. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Special thanks to the staff of Skaalen Home and HospiceCare, and to Dr. Agni.
