Madison -- Donald A. Sell, age 90, celebrated Christmas with Jesus. He died on Friday, December 24, 2010 at HospiceCare, Inc. of Madison. He was born September 10, 1920 in Kewaunee County, the son of Arthur and Emma (Gaulke) Sell. Don married Verna Ollmann at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kewaunee County, on May 21, 1960. He was a graduate of Algoma High School, served in the Army, and received a medical discharge. He then attended Milwaukee Vocational School. He worked 2 years as a draftsman with the State of Wisconsin Architects office; 9 years with Wisconsin Power and Light; then at Mead and Hunt Consulting Engineers until his retirement. Don had many interests and hobbies. He is survived by his wife, Verna; daughter, Lisa Sell and son-in-law, Mike Sladek; sisters-in-law, Virginia Krohn, Marcella Pilgrim, and Myra Sisel; and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Emma Sell; brother, Kenneth; brothers-in-law, Leo Krohn, Gerhardt Pilgrim, and Art Sisel; and his nephew, Carl Krohn. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at MT. OLIVE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 110 N. Whitney Way, Madison, WI 53705. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Lutheran Foundation; Calvary Lutheran Chapel, 701 State Street, Madison, WI 53701; or HospiceCare Foundation, Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711.
