Donna J. Every

Donna Jean (Wells) Every, age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, after a difficult battle with cancer. Donna was born an only child in the Poynette area and was raised on a farm by her grandparents. She moved to ""the big city"" of Madison at age 20 where she began her career at WI Bell Co.(now ATT) as a long distance operator and retired after 30 yrs of service. Donna became a mother after 10 yrs of marriage to Roderick Every.  They welcomed their only child, Jennifer, in 1975. From 1980 Donna raised her daughter with fierce independence and a gentle hand and welcomed a grandaughter, Kayla, her special angel, in 1992.  Donna devoted her life to the care of her girls and was their steadfast matriarch.  Donna  loved gardening, could organize the best yard sale, and loved the opportunity to travel with her girls to sunny locations from the backyard to Maui.  Donna took great pride in the accomplishments of her girls with their art and service to others. Donna is survived by Jennifer Every (partner Cristal) and Kayla Every who continue to reside in the home they shared with Donna in Madison; Step-Grandaughter Allanah; chosen Grandaughters Ashley, and Tayanna; chosen Sisters Bonnie & son Corky and Shirley. Please join us in releasing her spirit. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, Jan. 8 at the Cress Funeral Home where friends may call from 9-11am.  Chaplin Tim Jones will officiate.  At  Donna's request in lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent directly to the Every family at 509 Shearwater Street, Madison, WI, 53714.
