Falconer, Doral L. Rockford, IL/ Stoughton, WI- Doral L. Falconer, age 91, passed away in Stoughton on Monday, November 8, 2010. Â He was born on February 11, 1919, the first child of Harry and Leta (Simpson) Falconer from Winnebago, IL. Â He graduated from Winnebago High School and was a WWII veteran. Â He served in the Navy, Â on the ship, Franklin D. Roosevelt. Â After the war, he married Lois I. Carter in 1944, and they made their home in Rockford. Â Doral and Eugene Stoner had a hardware store business for many years on the west side of town. Â Doral ended his working years as the Executive Secretary of the Building Commission for Winnebago County. Â Doral and Lois had one child, Polly (David) Goepfert. Â Doral ""Hap"" always had projects for his grandchildren. Â They will remember making kites and doing many fixing' projects with grandpa. Â Doral's special interests besides his grandchildren were his Pot Luck' group and his card club, otherwise you would see him on his lawn mower. Â Doral was known for his happy-go-lucky and fun loving personality. Â He is survived by his daughter, Polly (David) Goepfert; grandchildren, Gabe (Jamie), NE, Abe (Kristi), Germany, Jake ( Victoria), TX, and Grace, Stoughton; 4 great grandchildren, Paityn, Alex, Liam and Aiden. Â He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; his brother, Duane; and his parents. Â Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 10:00 am, at Court Street United Methodist Church, 215 N. Court St., Rockford, IL with the Rev. Keith Kelsey-Powell officiating. Â Burial will follow at Willwood Burial Park. Â The family will greet friends at church on Wednesday from 9:30am until the time of service.
