Doris Esther Groening

Sun Prairie-Doris E. Groening, age 84, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison.  She was born on March 2, 1924 in Columbus, WI the daughter of Arthur & Helen (Yohn) Sennhenn.  Doris was united in marriage to Wesley Groening on May 11, 1957 in Columbus and he preceded her in death.  Mrs. Groening was a longtime resident of Sun Prairie and a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sun Prairie.  She is survived by her children, Sandra (Mark) Jones, Sun Prairie and Steven (Kris) Groening, Lake City, MN; grandchildren, Samantha Jones, Rachel & Scott Groening; brother, Ralph (Kathy) Sennhenn, Beaver Dam; other relatives and friends. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2008 from 4-6:00 p.m. at the Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie. Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillside Cemetery, Columbus with Rev. Luke Werre officiating.
