Doris Maier

Doris Maier, age 85, of Marshall passed away July 8th, 2021 with family by her side.

Doris was born July 21, 1935 to George and Lena (Laufenberg) Wagner in Middleton, WI.  She married Earl Maier on August 12, 1954 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Ashton, WI.  They first farmed outside of Westport and then moved to Marshall in 1969 and farmed there for many years.

Doris’ loves were her family, the farm, and reading whenever she could.  She was a gentle, loving person always willing to listen to her children’s and grandchildren’s concerns with the promise they would be in her prayers.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Haas and four grandchildren; Thomas Maier (Michelle), Kyle Haas (fiancé Jess), Kristopher Haas, and Hayley Haas, five great grandchildren; Jordan Bliss, Jaelyn Bliss, Jada (Hunter) Schulte, Jack Maier, Ava Maier and five great, great grandchildren; Noah, Avery, Emmett, Perseus, and Asher.  She is also survived by her siblings; Ann Wagner, Robert (Colletta) Wagner, Irene (Fritz) Bindl, Helen Frey and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in 1999, her son, Thomas Maier Sr., in 2017, her parents George and Lena, siblings Fr. Donald Wagner, Delores Wagner, Stanley Wagner, and two infants.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, July 16th at 11 am at St John’s Catholic Church in Waunakee with Msgr. Gunn and Pater Jorge Miramontes concelebrating the mass.  Visitation is on Thurs. July 15th from 5pm to 7pm at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home in Waunakee where a rosary will be recited.  There will also be visitation at the church from 10 am until the time of the services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
