Doris ""Jeanne"" Patton, 87, of Middleton, WI, dearly loved wife, mother, sister and friend, passed away at the Don & Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center on March 10, 2009. Jeanne was born on May 3, 1921 in Sand Springs, OK, the daughter of Grover and Sara Vaughn Myrick. Jeanne grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and attended college at Colorado College and the University of Oklahoma, studying Interior Design. She worked for Boeing Aircraft during WWII and married Capt. Robert F. Patton in Seattle, Washington in 1946. They settled in Madison, where he became a professor of Plant Pathology and Jeanne became a mother and homemaker. Her interests included gardening, the art of flower arranging, and the stitchery arts. She was an accredited flower show judge, an officer of both state and national garden club federations, and an award-winning embroiderer. She was active in the formation and activities of Covenant Presbyterian Church and in various civic and University clubs and organizations. Jeanne is survived by her sister, Charlotte (Don), of Alexandria, VA., a son, Robert (Rindy) of Lodi, WI., a daughter, Camella, of Tucson, AZ., and her brother-in-law, Mel Patton (Rita) of Riverside, CA. Jeanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert ""Pat"", in July, 2004. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 1:00 PM at COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 326 S. Segoe Road, Madison, WI 53705.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Scholarship Fund of the Wisconsin Garden Club Federation, Covenant Presbyterian Church, or the Don & Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center.
