Doris Stevens

Madison - Doris "Dotti" A. Stevens, age 92, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at her home. She was born on July 31, 1922 to Leo and Stella (Malinowska) Konczal in Cleveland, Ohio. Dotti was united in marriage to Gordon Stevens on December 24, 1943, while he was in the U.S. Army Air Force. As a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Dotti was active in volunteer work and parish activities. She was also a volunteer as a Red Cross Gray Lady associated with the community hospital in Ohio for many years. Dotti enjoyed sports, particularly golf and tennis, playing bridge with her friends, doing crossword puzzles, playing dominos with the family, watching golf and Badger football, and baking her famous homemade pies.

Her greatest love and joy was her family. Dotti is survived by her children, Cheryl Torhorst, Beth (Doug) Wrege, and Jeff (John) Stevens; her grandchildren, J.D. (Kari) Torhorst, Brooke (Mark) Timmerman, Brie (Mike) Lindemann, Ryan (Abbie) Wrege, Courtney (Danny) Spall, Brittny Pierson, and Amanda (Daeron) Wilson; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Gordon; her son, Greg; and infant son, Mark; her parents; two brothers; three sisters; son-in-law, Jim Torhorst; granddaughter, Ali; and son-in-law, Bob Henderson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Avenue, Madison with Msgr. Michael Burke officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Maria Goretti Parish.
