Dorothy G. Barry, age 95, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Nazareth House in Stoughton. Â She was born in Stoughton on February 23, 1915, a daughter of George and Edna (Testal) Barry. Â Dorothy served her country in the Army as a nurse during WWII and the Occupation of Japan. Â Following her discharge, she dedicated many years as a nurse at the Morningside Tuberculosis Sanatorium; retiring to care for her parents. Â Dorothy was the family historian, revered for her incredible memory, wonderful sense of humor and thirst for learning. Â She had a passion for travel and loved to study science, nature, and Native American issues. Â She was politically outspoken, enjoyed woodworking, and was a fan of the Packers and the Cubs. Â Dorothy passed away just hours before her sister, Pauline Rowland. Â She is survived by a sister-in-law, Doris Barry; 4 nephews, Mitchel (Jody), Bruce (Ruth) and John Barry, and Stuart (Sally) Danzinger; and many other relatives and friends. Â She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, George Robert, Russell, and Charles Barry; and a sister, Lorraine Danzinger. Â A private interment at Riverside Cemetery will take place at a later date.
