Dorothy Beyler

May 5, 1920 — February 6, 2012

Dorothy J. Beyler passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012 at age 91. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on May 5, 1920 the daughter of the late Hershel T. and Mary J. (Hartney) Rettig. Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Beyler on May 26, 1951 in San Francisco. In 1959 they moved to Madison where they raised their two children Robert and Julie. Together they enjoyed sailing, gardening, traveling and spending time with family, good friends.

Dorothy will be dearly missed by her children, Robert Beyler of Madison, and Julie (Nabil) Copty of Rockville, MD; granddaughter, Christina (fianc�e Greg Overkamp) Copty; grandson John Copty; sister-in-law, Mary Jensen; and Jack Hoven. She is further survived by her numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert in 2003; and her seven siblings: Lucille, Susan, Tom, Jim, John "Bud", Paul, and Sally.

The family extends a special thank you to Barbara and her staff of Coventry Sebring Gardens and the staff of Agrace HospiceCare for their wonderful care and support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 7, 2012 with Father Donn Heiar presiding. Family will greet friends at church one hour prior to mass. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
