Dorothy Bjerke

June 22, 1919 — February 15, 2013

Stoughton- Dorothy Bjerke, age 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Nazareth House. She was born in Stoughton on June 22, 1919, the daughter of Hans and Ethel (Reichert) Veium Jr. Dorothy graduated from Stoughton High School in 1937. She was employed at Stoughton Hospital and later was owner of House of Gifts with her daughter Shirley. Dorothy is survived by her four children, Shirley (William) Skinner, Betty Seamonson (Rollie Feggestad), Joyce (Jim) Seamonson and Jerry (Pam) Offerdahl; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; sister, Loraine Johnson; sisters-in-law, Jean Kitson and Betty Larson; and brother-in-law, David Bjerke. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy Bjerke; great grandson, Blake Seamonson; brother, Howard; and sisters, Gladys, Elizabeth and Valborg. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at First Lutheran Church, 310 E. Washington Street, Stoughton, with Rev. Richard Halom officiating. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon reception in the church fellowship hall following the burial. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of services at church on Wednesday. The family extends their extreme gratitude to Dr. Agni and nurse practitioner Gail Carr for their wonderful care, to Rev. Richard Halom and to the staff of Nazareth House.
