Dorothy J. Dyreson

Dorothy J. Dyreson, age 105 passed away on October 29, 2024. She was born on July 24, 1919 in Monroe, WI. Dorothy graduated from Monroe High School in 1937 and attended Madison Business College. She worked as a secretary for Godfried and Sons for 2 years. She married Burton Dyreson on February 21, 1943 and they were married for 68 years. They had 2 sons, John and Steven, they lived in Madison where she taught pre-school for 17 years and later worked for Gimbels Department Store for several years. She was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church all of her adult life, involved in the Alter Guild, Congregational Life, Sunset Village Circle and also Volunteered at the Bethel Parish Shop and Bethel Estate Sales. Dorothy loved to garden and raise flowers, especially roses. Dorothy always kept an immaculate home and loved to entertain for holiday gatherings. Her family was very important to her, especially her children. She loved her 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. We give our thanks to Oakwood (Tabor) staff especially and Oakwood Hospice. She is survived by her sons Steven (Patty) Dyreson; John (Patricia); grandchildren Jeffrey (Deirdre); Kenneth (Sarah) Scott (Sonja); Kevin (Krista); Laura (Darrell) Pinter; great grandchildren; Carter, Tate, Emma, Adeline, Logan, Brady, Morgan, Benjamin, Lena, Andrew, Chloe and Lilah. She is preceded in death by her husband, brother Lloyd (Leona), sister Lucille (Phillip) and many aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 18th at Oakwood West Chapel with Chaplain Nicole Espe officiating. A visitation will start at 9:30am followed by a service at 11:00am.
