Dorothy Louise Gilreath, age 83, of Madison, died on Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Middleton Village Nursing Home.
She was born April 26, 1928, in Goodman, WI to Louise and Herman Richards. She graduated from Goodman High School, married, and had one son, David, in 1951. She moved to Marinette, WI in 1953 where she was employed in food service for F.W. Woolworth and later, K-Mart. She was active in the United Methodist church in Marinette where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She retired in 1990 and moved to Madison to care for her grandchildren. She loved to sing, cook, sew and spend time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, David (Chely) of Madison, brother Clarence (Darlene) Richards of Medford, grandchildren Emilie (David) Glotfelty of New Glarus, WI, Jeffrey (Shannon) Gilreath of Park City Utah, David Gilreath of Madison, great-grandsons William and David Glotfelty, and great-granddaughter Gilreath expected.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Delores, Gladys, & Betty.
A one hour visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with Funeral Services to begin at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Harold Zimmick will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at the Glenwood Cemetery, Goodman, WI.
