Dorothy M. Leslie

Stoughton- Dorothy M. Leslie, age 91, passed away peacefully at the Skaalen Home, in Stoughton, on Friday, November 27, 2009. She was born in Stoughton, on January 8, 1918, a daughter of the late Morris and Palma (Hermanson) Leslie. Dorothy graduated from Stoughton High School, in 1936, and furthered her education graduating from the UW-Madison, in 1940. Following her graduation, Dorothy was employed in dietitian management in residence halls, at various Midwestern universities, including University of Bloomington, Ind., Champaign-Urbana, Ill., Ann Arbor, Mich. and Iowa City, Iowa, where she was employed for 32 years, until her retirement in August 1982. At that time, Dorothy returned to Stoughton, where she has made her home. Dorothy was active member of Covenant Lutheran Church, the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and Kappa Delta Sorority. Her hobbies, during her retirement years, included visiting with family and friends, travel and reading. Dorothy is survived by several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at COVENANT LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1525 N. Van Buren, Stoughton, with the Rev. Mark Petersen officiating. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m., until the time of service. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon, at the church, following the burial.
