Dorothy Mcmahon

Madison - Dorothy L. McMahon, age 81, passed away with her loving family by her side on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on July 19, 1933 in Owego, New York, the daughter of Fred and Rachel (Gage) Chrystler.

In 1951, Dorothy graduated from Newark Valley High School. On October 11, 1952, Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert J. McMahon in Newark Valley, New York, where they resided for nearly 30 years. For many years, she worked as an accountant for the Hillsborough County Planning Commission and, after she retired, they moved to Madison. In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed bowling, flower gardening and knitting. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy always looked forward to playing cards or games with them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dorothy is survived by her three children; Debbie Lincoln, Patricia "Pat" (Robert) Lavigna, Jack (Margaret) McMahon, seven grandchildren; Christine Nelson, Bobby Lincoln, Katie Lillegard, Kim Lincoln, Erin Hamilton, Hannah McMahon and Maddy McMahon, three great grandchildren; Declan Nelson, Sydney Nelson and Gianna Lillegard, four nieces and nephews; Wayne, Doreen, Adele and Rae Ann and two sisters; Gladys Stoughton and Mildred (Babe) Peterson. She is also survived by many other loving family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert in 2009, a sister Evelyn, a brother Freddie and a great grandson Caleb.

A memorial gathering will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Private graveside services will be held at Eastside Cemetery, Dodgeville.
