Dorothy C. Middleton, age 89, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009 in Fitchburg.   She was born January 30, 1920, in Stoughton, the daughter of Marshall and Ethel (Lind) Peterson.   Prior to her retirement in 1981, Dorothy had been employed by the WI   Motor Vehicle Department for 21 years.   She was a long time member of Bashford United Methodist Church and the Madison Moose Lodge.   While living in Florida after her retirement, she did volunteer work with the St. Petersburg Police Department.    
Survivors include 2 sons: Arnold (Joanne) Braund of Madison and Dean (Carolyn) Braund of Brodhead; 4 grandchildren: James (Debbie) Braund of Fall River, Cheryl (Mark) Erickson of Cottage Grove, Renee Braund of Madison and Theresa Braund of Brodhead; 10 great grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her first husband Duane ""Brownie"" Braund, her second husband Ferdinand ""Barney"" Middleton, her great living companion Edward Panzer; a sister Violet Chrisler and her brother-in-law Bill Chrisler.    
Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, December 7 at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME where friends may call from 9:00 am until time of service.   Reverend Fran Deaner will officiate and burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.   The family would like to thank the staff at Kindred Hearts Memory Care in Cottage Grove and HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg for their love and care of Dottie.
