Dorothy Smithback

McFarland- Dorothy H. Smithback walked into Gods arms on Thursday, December 1, 2011 surrounded with love from her children and family. She was born in Madison on December 15, 1925, the daughter of Edward and Olive Springman. Dorothy enjoyed wintering in Florida. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard Smithback; two children, Greg (Linda) of Waunakee and Sue (Dick) Niesen of Madison; two grandchildren, Gina Kortman and Jon (Jenny) Smithback, both of Waunakee; six great grandchildren, Jordan and Jarrett Kortman, Blake, Kelsey, Lauren and Lindsey Smithback; and sister, Jane of California. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5306 Main Street, McFarland, with Fr. D. Stephen Smith officiating. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM until the time of services Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
