Dorothy M. Swanson

Madison-Dorothy M. (Emden) Swanson completed her 88 year journey May 6, 2011 in Madison, Wis. She was born March 22, 1923 the daughter of Clyde and Lyllyan (Becker) Emden in Rhinelander, Wis. She graduated from Rhinelander High School and married her high school sweetheart Marcus Swanson. Dorothy enjoyed a variety of crafts, needlework, cooking, camping in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her brothers Richard Emden, Fay (Joan) Emden, her sister Beryl Gullickson, her daughter, Deborah Przywara son in law Victor Przywara and grandchildren, Gregory, Joseph, Chelsea, and Cassandra. She is further survived by a treasure trove of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held May 21 at 4 p.m. with a service at 5 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2670 Milwaukee St. the Rev. Mark Bartels officiating. Memorials can be made to Hospice Care or Belmont Nursing Home.
