Dorothy Weigle

Dorothy Jean "Dot" Weigle passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at age 94.

She was born in Van Wert, Ohio to the late Albert and Margaret (Williams) Uhl.
Dorothy graduated from Van Wert High School, Class of '41 and the International Business College in Fort Wayne, IN in 1943. She married Richard N. Weigle in Van Wert on October 15, 1944. They lived in West Lafayette, IN for many years where she raised their 3 children.

She volunteered in the Cub, Boys, and Girl Scouts Organizations. The family moved to Madison in 1968. She worked for Cuna Mutual Insurance for 17 years until her retirement on March 21, 1988. Dorothy volunteered at the U.W. Hospital for 15 years and was an active member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church for 48 years, serving as a Deacon and volunteering in a variety of services. She enjoyed traveling overseas and in the States with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing bridge and attending concerts.

Dorothy will be dearly missed by her children, Rick (Dianne), Scott, and Susan (Dan) Witte; grandchildren, Jennifer (Adam) Towns, and Amy Witte; step-grandchildren, Eric Magnuson, Jana Gibson and Alex (Miriam) Hoppe; great-grandchildren, Lilia, Lucca and Weston; twin brother, Don (Faye) Uhl; nephew, Chris; and niece, Tiffany.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 326 S. Segoe Road, Madison, on Monday, July 17, 2017. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service. A reception will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church or the Dick Weigle Memorial Scholarship Fund 161-1034, College of Agriculture, 116 Agriculture Hall, 1450 Linden Dr., Madison, WI 53706.
