Douglas Earl Lockman

Sun Prairie- Douglas E. Lockman, age 56, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2008 surrounded by his family after a long battle with colon cancer.  Doug was born on April 3, 1952 in Madison, WI.  He attended DeForest High School and MATC.  He lived most of his life in Sun Prairie.  Doug was united in marriage to Lora Grenier on June 7, 1986.  Doug worked at Sears for 39 years, the last 19 years in HVAC and had a Class B electrician's license. Doug was a lifelong member of Burke Lutheran Church involved with ushering and served on the Property Board where he was the Chair for a couple of years.   He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  Doug was an avid hunter and Packer fan.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife, photography, riding his bike, ""tinkering"" in the basement (he could fix anything) and family gatherings.  Doug was a space and aviation enthusiast and especially loved the winter season.  Doug is survived by his wife of 22 years, Lora; daughters Connie (Troy) Hauge and Brenda (Brian) Broughman; step-children Trever (Cheyenne) Weichmann and Tina (Nick) Graham; grandchildren Branden Hauge, Beau, Jami, Reid and Luke Weichmann, and Josie Graham; parents Francis and Alice (Davidson) Lockman; siblings Dave (Cathy), Richard, Darla and Dan (Rose) Lockman; father and mother-in-law William and Carol Grenier; sisters-in-law Marcy (Paul) Thornburgh and Kathy (John) Cardott; brothers-in-law Jon (Deb) Grenier and Doug (Shannon) Grenier; aunts, uncles, cousins and many nieces and nephews.  He will be missed by all.  A very special thanks to the wonderful staff at The Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg.  Services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Burke Lutheran Church, 5720 Portage Road, Madison with Pastor Russ Leeper presiding. Burial will be held in the church's cemetery.
