FLAG  Dr. Franklin J. ""Fritz"" Jasensky  StoughtonDr. Franklin J. ""Fritz"" Jasensky, age 87, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2009. He was born in Stoughton on February 13, 1922 the son of the late Frank and Athalia (Olson) Jasensky. Frank attended the Stoughton schools, graduating from the Stoughton High School in 1940. He furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison until his schooling was interrupted in 1942 when he entered the army. He served as a Field Medic and his tour of duty took him over seas to Europe and Belgium where he was wounded. After his military service to his country, he continued his education at Cleveland, OH where he graduated in the School of Podiatrics. He practiced in Madison for 37 years, retiring to Stoughton in 1987. For his military service he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze and Silver Star in 1944. Honoring his military service he was a member of the VFW Post #328 and the American Legion Post #59 both of Stoughton. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and was married there in 1950 to his wife, the former Phyllis Lunde of Stoughton. They recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. He and his wife moved from Madison to Stoughton in 1977 and have resided on Lake Kegonsa these many years.                                                       He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; two sons, Jack (Kathy) of McFarland, and James (Karen) of Sun Prairie; his daughter, Linda (Bill) Wilson of Madison; a grandson, Adam Jasensky; and two step-grandsons, Sam (Jaima) and Ben (Angie) Clavette.  A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 11 am at First Lutheran Church, 310 Washington Street, Stoughton with the Rev. Richard Halom officiating. Friends may greet the family at the church, on Thursday, after 10 am until the time of service. Military Rites will be accorded him by the Stoughton American Legion Post #59 Honor Guard following the services at the church. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon at the church following services.
