Dr. Oien

Sun Prairie- Dr. Robert D. Oien, age 89, passed away on February 13, 2015 at his home in Sun Prairie. He was born on August 27, 1925 in Lodi the son of Lloyd & Gertrude (Statz) Oien. He served in the Navy during WWII. Robert was united in marriage with June Hommen on April 10, 1948 at Liberty Prairie Lutheran Church, Deerfield. He was a longtime resident of Sun Prairie and a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, The Lions Club, Sun Prairie V.F.W. and Wisconsin Chiropractic Association. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, dancing and traveling the world.

Robert is survived by his sons, Gary (Claudine) Oien, Madison, Wayne (Charla) Oien, Cresent Springs, KY, Steve (Denise) Oien, Galesville and Greg Oien, Poynette; his foster daughters, Darlene (Jack) Darland, Oshkosh, and Kathy (Darold) Hanusa, Madison; his grandchildren, Brenda & Garret; Step-grandchildren, Stefany, Max, Nicole and Jenifer; great grandson, Addison, step-great-grandchildren, Izayah, Alexandria and Rochelle; sisters, Donna (Tom) Kessenich and Beatrice Kolman; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, June; sister, Delores Hillestad; and a foster daughter, Jackie Ruiz.

A memorial service will be held at OUR SAVIOR'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 550 Lincoln Drive, Sun Prairie, on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Richard Blomker officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
