Dwayne Howard Loomis peacefully passed away at home after a courageous battle with cancer on May 29th, 2015. Born in Madison, WI. on April 24th, 1930 at St. Mary's Hospital.
He graduated from Madison East High School. He happily married Beverly Ann Loomis on April 21st of 1956 and spent 59 years wonderful years together. During his lifetime, he worked for Marling Lumber Company. He also worked at Lumberman's Supply for many years, and owned and operated his own dairy farm.
After many devoted years of working, he comfortably retired and moved to Stoughton, Wi with his wife Beverly. Together, they spent 21 years as "snow birds" in Casa Grande, AZ. In his early years, his hobbies included snowmobiling, hunting, and working on his farm. In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, play euchre, golfing and traveling.
He is survived by his wife Beverly, three children Jeff (Sandy) Loomis, Krisitine (Mark) Sankbeil, and Susan (Tom) Galauner, his grandchildren Sara Loomis, Jacqueline Glynn, and Andrew Galauner, and step grandchildren Tracy Sankbeil and Christapher Sankbeil. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clara and Charlie Loomis, his brothers Robert Loomis, Henry (Alice) Loomis, and sister Bertha (Harry) Nelson and sister-in-law Betsey Thronson.
His family would like to thank Agrace Hospice for their care for their beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather.
The memorial service for Dwayne Loomis will be held on Wednesday June 3rd, 2015 at First Lutheran Church located at 310 East Washington Street in Stoughton, WI at 11:00 a.m.. The visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
